Privacy Policy

MVR College ("we", "our", "MVR College") provides the MVR Student mobile application ("App") to help students view academic information such as attendance, internal marks, external marks and to submit feedback. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Information we collect

• Student account data: Roll number, name, program, branch, ABC ID (if applicable), regulation and other profile fields required for identification and display.
• Academic data: Attendance records, internal marks, external marks, subjects handled and class/session metadata (used to display to the logged-in student or faculty).
• Device & usage data: Basic device information (OS version), anonymized usage logs and crash reports to help improve app stability.
• Push notifications token: Firebase Cloud Messaging token to deliver notifications. Tokens are used only to send messages and are not sold or shared.

How we use data

• Provide and operate the App features (display attendance, marks, classwork).
• Authenticate users and maintain sessions for secure access.
• Send important notifications related to academics and app updates.
• Improve app performance and fix bugs through aggregated crash analytics.

Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share limited data with trusted service providers who operate the backend (hosting, push notification service — Firebase) and only to the extent necessary to provide the App. Any third party that receives data is contractually bound to keep it secure and not to use it for other purposes.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect user data from unauthorized access or disclosure. Data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. Please remember no system is 100% secure — if you suspect a security issue, contact us immediately.

Data retention

We retain user data only for as long as necessary to provide the App and comply with legal obligations. When an account is deleted, personal data associated with that account will be removed from our active systems in accordance with our retention policy.

Children

The App is intended for students aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are aware of an account for a child under 13, please contact us and we will take steps to remove the data.

Your choices

• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us (details below).
• You can opt out of non-essential push notifications by changing notification preferences in the device settings.
